Cubit Consulting are a well-established firm of Chartered Building Surveyors located in the heart of Shoreditch, London EC2A.

We operate a multi-disciplinary consultancy providing professional services and specialist advice to a variety of commercial and domestic clients (independent, or for experts, professional advice) servicing London, the Home Counties and further afield in the United Kingdom. The original company was founded in 1938 with the current brand, Cubit Consulting, being established in 2003 and has developed into the current day strong and independent firm of Chartered Surveyors being well-known for its strong presence in the market place.

Building Surveying

Building surveying covers a wide range of disciplines and services provided to both private individuals and property-holding organisations. Architectural Services and Design

We have a full Architectural Design team with expertise in both new-build construction and conversion and extension projects. Our in-house CAD team are able to prepare detailed measured surveys of all types of buildings along with Lease Plans for conveyancing purposes. We take great pride in developing the client brief from inception to completion and strive to provide the most cost-effective designs for both new build and refurbishment projects.

We can arrange for the preparation and submission of plans together with the appropriate forms to the local Planning and Building Control Authority and negotiate with them through the consent process. We offer the following Architectural and Design services:

Party Wall Matters

We regularly act for both Building and Adjoining Owners in respect of party wall matters and are fully versed in the procedures of The Party Wall Etc Act 1996 as well as dealing with boundary-related disputes. We regularly act for either Building or Adjoining Owners on projects as diverse as small residential extensions up to multi-million pound commercial developments.

It should be noted that our professional fees for acting as Adjoining Owner’s Surveyor are, in all but a few cases, always payable by the Building Owner.  Our services include:

  • Party Wall appointments, either building or adjoining owner;
  • Boundary dispute advice;
  • Scaffold and Oversailing Licences;
  • Rights of Light;
  • Expert’s Report.

CDM Services

Anyone who now procures construction work has a legal duty under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 to ensure that their project is suitably managed in order to ensure the Health and Safety of all who might be affected by the works.

Under the Regulations clients must appoint a Principal Designer to co-ordinate matters relating to Health and Safety at the pre-construction phase.

Cubit Consulting provide Principal Designer services to discharge all Health & Safety obligations including the following:

  • Co-ordination of Risk Assessments;
  • CDM Regulation Advice;
